Your Story: Wounds & Skills Analysis

We will look at your story, what challenges you’ve overcome and wounds you have healed in order to identify your special skill set that sets you a part from everyone else that does what you do.

MY STORY VIDEO OVERVIEW

Start with listing 3-4 key wounds/challenges from childhood and 3-4 from adulthood in the vertical column of the worksheet.

If you have a 1:1 call scheduled, we will go through the process together on your call. Just have the list of wounds ready. Remember, it's not just about the BIG traumas, do include those, but there are often other seemingly small challenges that make your who you are today.

After your call (or working with a partner), please fill out the rest of the document. This is a living document and will likely be added to over the next several weeks. I continue to update mine and it helps my marketing.

Once you have completed your Wounds Revelation worksheet, begin to identity patterns. Summarize your responses and use your that to fill out the following form before your next call.

Your FELT words will help create a heart connection with your ideal client regarding their own current challenge and the CRAVED words will be what they really want. This is the place they BUY from (and will justify with their head, logic and the details of your program later).

Wounds revelation exercise

1) Review Your List:
-Go back over your wounds/challenges list and see if any patterns jump out.
    -Journal about what you notice.

2) Felt/Craved List (on your own):
-Pick 3-4 childhood wounds to explore.
-Set a safe, sacred space (perhaps light a candle, do a brief meditation or prayer).
-Ask yourself (and take notes about) what you felt in the situation and keep going deeper.
(ex ...and when you felt scared how did you feel?)
-Ask yourself (and take notes about) what you craved in the situation and keep going deeper.
(ex ...and when you felt scared what did you crave?)

3) Felt/Craved List (with a partner):
-Set aside approximately 30 minutes for each person (you can do both on the same call or schedule two separate calls
-Pick 3-4 childhood wounds to explore (can be the same ones you were exploring on your own)
-Have your partner select a wound to work with and state it in less than 30 sec (bullet point version, NOT the whole story)
-Ask your partner (and take notes about) what they felt in the situation and keep going deeper.
(ex ...and when you felt scared how did you feel?)
-Ask your partner (and take notes about) what they craved in the situation and keep going deeper.
(ex ...and when you felt scared what did you crave?)
-Send your partner their felt/craved words and phrases

NOTE:
-Do NOT rescue your partner, be with them if emotion arises, acknowledge what may have been really difficult, but keep going... you are NOT there to save them but to HELP them get to the heart of the wound so that they can access the gifts/skills/strategies...

-Do NOT compare stories, commiserate or feel sorry for them in the process

-DO listen deeply

-DO draw upon your coaching/deep listening/presence

After you've completed your exploration (on your own AND with your partner), post your summary to the following link. Look especially for repeated words/phrases or ones that have the most charge.
